How the Neta Trust Score™ works

The Neta Trust Score is a citizen feedback average on NetaSampark — not an official government rating. It is designed to reward consistent, factor-based ratings rather than one-off scores.

A profile can show two different numbers, and they are not the same thing. The quick star tap on a profile is a 1–10 starting point. The published Neta Trust Score is out of 100, because it is the sum of ten separate 1–10 factors. A single star does not replace those ten scores.

The ten factors

Every approved rating scores each factor from 1 (much to improve) to 10 (excellent). Each factor starts at the middle of that scale and stays there until the citizen moves it.

  1. Accessibility. How easy is it to reach your Neta?
  2. Responsiveness. How quickly does your Neta respond to citizens?
  3. Development & Work. How well is your Neta working for constituency development?
  4. Communication. How effectively does your Neta communicate with citizens?
  5. Transparency. How transparent is your Neta in actions and decisions?
  6. Leadership. How strong is your Neta's leadership?
  7. Problem Resolution. How effectively are public issues solved?
  8. Public Engagement. How well does your Neta engage with the public?
  9. Integrity & Ethics. How would you describe your Neta’s integrity in public life?
  10. Citizen Confidence. How much confidence do you have in your Neta?

The formula

One citizen’s overall rating is the sum of the ten factor scores. The lowest possible total is 10 and the highest is 100.

Worked example. Accessibility 8, Responsiveness 7, Development & Work 6, Communication 8, Transparency 7, Leadership 6, Problem Resolution 5, Public Engagement 7, Integrity & Ethics 8, Citizen Confidence 7. The sum is 8+7+6+8+7+6+5+7+8+7 = 69 out of 100.

The public score on a profile is the average of approved overall ratings, rounded for display. It is not an official government mark and it is not mixed with election vote share.

Anti-manipulation rules

  • A rating counts only after moderation. Spam, duplicates, and abusive text are rejected.
  • One signed-in citizen has one rating per representative. Updating it replaces the previous score; it does not add a second vote.
  • Names are not shown on the public profile. Contributor identity stays with the account.
  • Representatives cannot pay to change a score, hide a rating, or buy placement in the directory.
  • When fewer than five approved ratings exist, the profile shows an Early score label so a thin average is not read as a settled result.
  • Sudden bursts from the same network or repeated identical text can be held for review before they affect the average.
