Make Major Bus Stops Safe and Rain-Proof

Many people depend on buses every day for work, education and essential travel. During heavy rain, passengers can be left standing without proper shelter, seating, lighting or drainage. Upgrade major bus stops with covered shelters, adequate seating, proper lighting, clean surroundings, drainage and clear information about bus routes. Priority should be given to stops used by large numbers of students, senior citizens, women and daily workers. The improvements should make public transport more comfortable and safer throughout the year, not just during the monsoon.

Should CEC Gyanesh Kumar resign?

Recent protests have demanded the CEC's resignation over allegations concerning voter-list revisions (SIR) and the functioning of the Election Commission. The ECI has defended its processes, while the allegations remain contested. In light of the recent controversies surrounding the Election Commission and demands for his resignation, should CEC Gyanesh Kumar step down?

Create a One-Stop Help Centre for Government Services

Many citizens are eligible for government schemes and public services but struggle to understand which scheme they qualify for, what documents are required and where to apply. Create a local one-stop help centre where citizens can receive information and assistance for government schemes, pensions, scholarships, certificates, welfare programmes and other public services. The centre should help citizens understand eligibility, required documents, application procedures and application status. Assistance should be available in the local language and should particularly support senior citizens, women, persons with disabilities and people who are not comfortable using online services.

Install Rainwater Harvesting in Every Government Building

Rainwater is often allowed to flow away during the monsoon while many communities face water shortages during dry periods. Government schools, offices, community halls, health centres and other public buildings can be used to capture and recharge rainwater. Install rainwater harvesting and groundwater-recharge systems in suitable government buildings and public spaces. Existing systems should also be inspected and maintained so they continue to work effectively. The programme can begin with government schools and offices and gradually cover other public buildings.

Create a Time-Bound Citizen Complaint Tracking System

Citizens frequently report problems such as potholes, damaged streetlights, overflowing drains, garbage accumulation and water supply issues. The biggest frustration is often not knowing whether the complaint has been received or when it will be resolved. Create a simple citizen complaint system where residents can report a civic issue and receive a complaint number. The system should show the responsible department, expected resolution timeline and current status. Citizens should be able to track whether a complaint is received, assigned, being worked on or resolved. Repeated or unresolved complaints should be escalated automatically.

Create a Free AI & Digital Skills Centre for Local Youth

Many young people are looking for better employment opportunities, but the skills required by employers are changing rapidly. AI and digital skills are becoming increasingly important for future jobs. India is also placing greater emphasis on AI skilling and talent development. Set up a free local skill centre where young people can learn practical AI tools, digital marketing, coding, data skills, communication, interview preparation and other job-ready skills. Training should include certificates, career guidance and connections with employers or apprenticeship opportunities. The centre should especially help students, unemployed youth and young people from families who cannot afford private training.
